Material of the Tea Tables
When choosing the materials for his tea table series, the German-Scandinavian designer had three priorities: Premium quality, a beautiful appearance and environmentally sensitive materials. To achieve the unique design of his tables, a special, high-quality material mix of different types of wood was chosen, which is carefully processed during the production of the tea tables.
Wafer-Thin Tabletop Made of Premium HPL Wood Material
For a Tea Table in White, Grey & Anthracite
As indicated above, when creating his tables, the German-Norwegian designer was looking for a material from which a wafer-thin, robust tabletop could be constructed. Furthermore, it was important to him to focus on renewable wood materials so that his tea table could be produced in the most environmentally friendly way possible. In the end, he drew inspiration from the construction of high-quality building façades. HPL (High Pressure Laminate) wood is increasingly used in this field because it is durable, weather-resistant and can be flexibly coloured. The designer wanted to use these advantages for his sofa side tables, which is why the top of each coffee / tea table consists of a thin layer of HPL wood. He chose white, grey and anthracite as colours to create a sofa tea table with a stylish, timelessly beautiful aesthetic. The black edges of the HPL tabletop are carefully chamfered and the corners are butted, lending the living room table a high-quality overall appearance. Underneath the upper HPL top lies a discreetly inwardly offset layer of white birch plywood. Cleverly concealed, it provides the table top with even greater stability and makes the HPL top appear to float above the table legs.

janEven tea tables with hairpin legs are 43 cm high. The slightly sloping course of the graceful, thin steel legs is reminiscent of the Scandinavian furniture style. HPL is easier to clean and more scratch-resistant than a high-gloss / glass tea table:
Due to the high molecular density of HPL wood, dirt does not stick to it as quickly as it does to a glass or high-gloss coffee table. In addition, a table made of HPL wood is easier to wipe clean with a damp cloth without leaving streaks compared to a glossy / tempered glass coffee table. An HPL top is also more durable and scratch-resistant than tables made of material with a glossy finish or with a glass top.

An ideal tea table position is achieved when the table is within perfect reach of the couch, but at the same time there is enough space for unobstructed passage. This results in the following distances:

If your couch is a classic 2 or 3-seater, the length of the tea table should not exceed one third to one half of the width of the couch.
